Cultural and Historic Perspective of the Massacre at the Washita Planned by SWOSU

A program providing different perspectives of the Massacre at the Washita is being presented by Southwestern Oklahoma State University. 

SWOSU President Randy Beutler, SWOSU Department of Social Sciences instructor Dr. Sunu Kodumthara and Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College President Henrietta Mann will present the three-part program on A Cultural and Historic Perspective of the Massacre at the Washita.

Program dates and topics are:

March 27
6-8 p.m. Old Science Building 208

Dr. Henrietta Mann presents “White Buffalo Woman: A Granddaughter’s Perspective”

Field trip to the Washita Battlefield National Historic Site with a special presentation by Bob Rea from the Oklahoma Historical Society and director of the Fort Supply Historic Site.

The seminars are free and open to the public.  Registration for the field trip is $20 and includes the cost of transportation and lunch.  Space for the field trip is limited and the registration deadline is March 26.
