Four Southwestern Oklahoma State University students recently attended an Oklahoma Scholar-Leadership Enrichment Program featuring Professor Ruth Ben-Ghiat of New York University who offered a seminar on “Italian Film, Italian History.” The seminar explored the relationship between Italian history and Italian culture from the era of Italy’s unification in the 19th century to the present day.  SWOSU students (from left) Erika Christner, Drummond; Jordan Kelley, Watonga; Sandra Pratt, Dibble; and (far right) Brian Morris, Hobart; participated in the seminar. Also attending was (second from right) SWOSU Professor John Hayden. Sixteen other students from Oklahoma universities also attended the event. OSLEP is a program that invites scholars from around the world to come to an Oklahoma college campus and offer an intensive five-day, 45-hour seminar in the field of their expertise.
