SWOSU Students Stage Awareness of Poverty Project
May 3, 2012
Southwestern Oklahoma State University Phi Delta Chi members (from left) Ryan Kendrick of Lawton (Eisenhower), Kaitlin Harrison of Davis, Kyrsten Smith of Fairfax and Ashlie Stacy of Norman (North) participate in an awareness of poverty project recently held on the Weatherford campus. The pharmacy fraternity erected a makeshift shelter in front of the Old Science Building and students lived there in shifts for an entire week. The students visited with people who stopped at the shelter about the widespread nature of poverty. They also collected canned goods for donation to local food banks.
