SWOSU Summer Music Camps to Attract Many Students
June 14, 2012
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Music Department is once again gearing up for a camp-filled summer in Weatherford with young musicians.
The first of the camps—Marimba Camp—was recently held on the campus and around 100 choral campers led by 10 faculty are expected July 17-21. The Middle School Band Camp for students ages 11 to 14 begins June 24 and runs through June 27. Around 250 middle school students are expected. The final camp, Band Camp, begins July 8 and ends July 13. Around 500 campers, grades 7 to 12, and a staff of over 70 faculty are expected for this event.
Dr. Keith Talley said the camps have great regional support and offer a fun and educational opportunity. All of the profits go to benefit SWOSU music scholarships.
Sign-ups are still ongoing for the music camps. For more information or to register, please visit http://swosucamps.com/, contact the Music Camp office at 580.774.3296 or email Dr. Talley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
