Blood Drive Planned June 25 at SWOSU
June 19, 2012
The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be on the Weatherford campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University this Monday, June 25, for a one-day blood drive.
The blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the SWOSU Wellness Center.
Students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to participate and all donors receive a free t-shirt, health screenings and donor reward points.
“Make sure to eat well, get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of fluids before donating,” said Richard Story, OBI consultant. "We are very much in need of all blood types, but especially O, A and B."
According to information from the OBI, one blood donation can save up to three lives. Yet, less than 10 percent of eligible Americans donate. Story said blood supplies are at a critical level, so able donors are urged to give.
