Bystander Project Now Underway by VIPER
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University Violence Intervention, Prevention and Early Response (VIPER) program will soon kick off its newest venture, the Bystander Project.
“Anyone can be an active bystander empowered to intervene in a violent situation or to help prevent it from happening all together,” said VIPER Coordinator Wendy Henson.
She encourages all students to like “SWOSU Violence Prevention” on Facebook and share a story of how they stepped in to help someone in a potentially violent situation.
Students who post will automatically be entered to win a Bystander shirt while supplies last. Please omit any information that would identify the people involved. If students would like to remain anonymous, email the story to email@example.com and VIPER will post it.
Henson would like to thank corporate sponsors Billy Karlin Construction and Sides Screenprinting for supporting the Bystander Project.
