Water for 2060...and Beyond is Focus of Free Seminar This Thursday at SWOSU
The first of three free seminars on Oklahoma water issues is this Thursday, September 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
Oklahoma Water Resources Board Executive Director J. D. Strong will speak about “Water for 2060….and Beyond.” His talk will be in the SWOSU Conference Center, located at the corner of Seventh and Davis Streets in Weatherford. Admission is free.
This seminar is part of SWOSU Continuing Education programs that will focus on exploring issues regarding water issues in Oklahoma. Future programs are:
- October 2: “Water: The Basics Plus Current Oil & Gas Related Issues,” Speakers Mart Tisdal and Patrick O’Hara Jr., attorneys-at-law, Tisdal & O’Hara PLLC; and “Conservation and Water—Keeping it Around and Keeping Safe,” Speaker Clay Pope, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Association of Conservation Districts
- October 6: “Choctaw/Chickasaw Regional Water Plan”, Speaker Duane Smith, former Executive Director of the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and consultant for the Chickasaw and Choctaw Tribes
