Auditions Planned Monday and Tuesday for Charlotte's Web

October 12, 2012

Auditions for the Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s production of Charlotte’s Web will be Monday and Tuesday, October 15-16, on the Weatherford campus.

Auditions are open to all SWOSU students regardless of major. Times are Monday at 7 p.m. and Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the SWOSU Hilltop Theatre.

Director Steve Strickler said students interested in any aspect of theatre, backstage or onstage should attend the audition.

The popular children’s book by E.B. White has been adapted for the stage by Joseph Robinette.  Many know the story of the desperate attempt by a young girl named Fern and all the barnyard animals to save Wilbur, the irresistible young pig, from the butcher block.  The help of Charlotte and her miraculous web teach lessons about friendship and good deeds.

Scripts are available to check out from Strickler in Campbell Building 126-F.  The auditions will be conducted in a cold-reading style; therefore, students do not need to have anything prepared in advance.  There are multiple roles and positions available for the production.

For more information contact Strickler at 580.774.3082 or steve.strickler@swosu.edu or technical director/designer Stephen Haynes in Campbell Building 126-E, 580.774.7046 or stephen.haynes@swosu.edu.
