SWOSU Hosting Three High School Football Playoff Games This Weekend
Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Milam Stadium/Fast Lane Field will be a busy place this weekend when three high school football playoff games take place on the Weatherford campus.
On Friday night at 7:30 p.m., SWOSU will host a Class 2A state semifinals contest between Frederick and Oklahoma Christian. The winner will advance to the state championship contest against the winner of the Vian/Davis contest, which is also being played Friday night but in Midwest City.
Then on Saturday, two state championship contests will take place in Weatherford. The Class C state championship title will be decided between Forgan and Tipton at 1:30 p.m. and the Class B state title will be determined between Laverne and Pond Creek-Hunter at 7:30 p.m.
SWOSU President Randy Beutler said the university and Weatherford are excited about this weekend’s Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association contests being held at the university. Visitors will see many improvements on the SWOSU campus, and one of the new projects on campus is the construction of a new Events Center, which is being built just south of Milam Stadium. The 93,000 square foot center is projected to be completed in late 2013.
Ticket prices for the games this weekend are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
