SWOSU-Sayre is offering a new computer science class that will explore the new credit card-sized computer Raspberry Pi.

Instructor Earl Bales said this amazing computer fits in the palm of a hand and runs a version of Linux operating system, processes at 700 MHz speed that has a network port and 2 USB ports for keyboard and mouse.

SWOSU-Sayre is offering three different options on the classes:

  • Beginning programming January 10 thru February 12
  • Intermediate programming February 14 thru March 26
  • Advanced programming March 28 thru April 30

College credits can be earned while exploring the Raspberry Pi.  The classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 10:50 am for a total of 10 classes for 1 credit hour.  There are no pre-requisites and all are welcome.
