News 9 Anchor Robin Marsh to Speak at AAUW Luncheon
Robin Marsh, an Emmy-nominated and national award-winning journalist from Oklahoma City’s News 9, will be guest speaker at SWOSU’s chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) spring luncheon on March 5 on the Weatherford campus.
The 12 noon luncheon will be held in the East Ballroom of the Memorial Student Center. Tickets for the event are $15 and are on sale in Room 205 of the SWOSU Administration Building or from any AAUW member.
The menu is a baked potato bar with several toppings, salad and dessert. This event is open to the public.
Marsh will share her experiences in the world of television and life in general. Marsh joined the News 9 team in April of 1995 and was the morning news anchor for 12 years. She now co-anchors News 9’s four o’clock broadcast with Lauren Nelson.
In her 25 years in the business, Marsh has received a number of honors including excellence in feature reporting from the National Academy of Television Journalists, honors from the Society of Professional Journalists, and was named "Oklahoma's Journalist of the Year." Marsh has also been honored by the Girl Scouts of America as a "Woman of Distinction." Marsh's series of reports on breast cancer can be found on display at the National Museum of Broadcast Journalism Center in Chicago.
Marsh is a speaker with the International Christian Women's Club. She also volunteers every year for the Special Olympics as well as many other charitable organizations. She has co-written a teen devotional book with Nelson and will have copies to purchase at the luncheon. She and her husband, Keith, live in Edmond and have a son, Cade.
