SWOSU Hosting Speech Tourney This Weekend

Twenty-three schools will participate in this weekend’s (February 8-9) annual high school speech tournament at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

The SWOSU Department of Communication and Theatre is the host.  

The field of competitors will participate in Lincoln-Douglas style debate as well as team cross examination. Participants will also compete in individual events. SWOSU students and faculty members will judge the competition.

Department of Communication and Theatre Chair Dr. Robin Jones said SWOSU has hosted a speech tournament on campus for over 50 years.

Participating teams are from: Alva, Astec, Bethany, Binger-Oney, Cement, Cherokee, Cheyenne, Colbert, Cordell, Crossing Christian School, Douglass, Duke, Fairview, Geronimo, Hammon, Hobart, Kingfisher, Lone Grove, Marlow, Okarche, Okeene, Oklahoma Christian School and Tipton.
