Oklahoma Turning Point Council Presents SWOSU with Excellence Award
The Oklahoma Turning Point Council recently certified Southwestern Oklahoma State University as a healthy campus – giving SWOSU the Excellence Award.
Campuses are eligible to attain the Excellence Award only if the institution has a 24/7 tobacco-free policy. The Oklahoma Turning Point Council began the peer certification process as a way of promoting wellness, encouraging healthy behaviors, and establishing safe and supportive environments.
All Oklahoma public and private colleges, universities and career technology centers are eligible to apply. Campuses are given basic, merit, and excellence certifications dependent upon total score distribution within peer groups. Just eleven campuses in Oklahoma were honored with the Excellence Award. For more information, contact SWOSU Director of Student Health Services Laura Smith at 580.774.3776 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
