Seminar on Oklahoma Flora Planned at SWOSU
“Oklahoma Flora—Past, Present and Future” is the focus of a seminar planned this Wednesday, April 3, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
The 4 p.m. seminar by Dr. Adam Ryburn is free and open to the public. The presentation will take place in Room 212 of the Old Science Building.
Ryburn, who teaches at Oklahoma City University, is currently working with other state botanists to construct a Flora of Oklahoma. As a plant taxonomist, the focus of his research is the classification and identification of plants.
Ryburn earned his B.S. from SWOSU in 1998 and his Ph.D. in plant science from Oklahoma State University in 2003 under the direction of Ronald J. Tyrl. Prior to his position at OCU, he taught at the State University of New York, College at Oneonta.
