SWOSU Professor Dr. Warren Moseley has a busy and interesting summer planned this year.

Moseley, who teaches in the Department of Accounting, Computer Science & Entrepreneurship, will spend the summer at the University of California at Berkeley working on the ESNet (energy sciences network) project.

Dr. Moseley’s research will support Higgs boson particle research at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. The Large Hadron Collider is the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator.

According to Science magazine, the scientific “Breakthrough of the Year” was the discovery of the Higgs boson – a subatomic particle that could explain how fundamental particles gain mass. Physicists have searched for the elusive particle for nearly 40 years.

The Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where Dr. Moseley will work, performs computational research that contributes to the project.
