Two Groups Encouraging Blood Donors at June 24 Drive at SWOSU
June 12, 2013
The Oklahoma Blood Institute will receive blood donations during a drive Monday, June 24, on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
The blood drive will be held in the Wellness Center from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Several causes are encouraging all area residents to donate. The family of Cord Mobly of Choctaw would like to invite all blood donors to donate during this drive “in memory of Cord.” Mobly was a SWOSU student who was active in the Guard Officer Leadership Development (GOLD) program. He was in an accident in early April and has since passed away.
Also, this drive is sponsored by the Rotary Club and Kiwanis Club of Weatherford. This time-honored, friendly challenge between Rotary and Kiwanis is held to see which group gets the greatest number of pints drawn for the size of their group. When someone donates blood, they will be able choose under which name they are donating, Kiwanis or Rotary.
