Audio Book Collection Continues to Grow at SWOSU Library

June 18, 2013

The audio book collection continues to grow at the Al Harris Library, located on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford.

Interim Library Director Jason Dupree said the compilation of audio books began four years ago, and around 175 books are now available on two platforms:  CD and digital download.   The staff adds to the collection each year.

The majority of the audio books are primarily non-fiction stories of historical or biographical value, but there are also many novels and books of literature that are popular for people who do frequent travels. Teachers enjoy using certain audio books for classroom purposes, such as Don Quixote. There are also tapes for people interested in learning a second language.

Anyone wanting to check out an audio book only needs a community patron card or a SWOSU I.D. There is also the option of streaming the audio book online, which can be done at: http://www.swosu.edu/library/databases/audio.asp
