Spencer & Sanders Receive SWOSU Parks and Rec Management Scholarships

Southwestern Oklahoma State University students Nathan Spencer (left) of Butler and Jerret Sanders of Sickles were awarded the 2013 SWOSU College of Professional and Graduate Studies scholarships for the Parks and Recreation Management Department. Spencer is a senior majoring in parks and wildlife law enforcement with the Council on Law Enforcement and Training (CLEET) Collegiate Officer Program specialization. He is currently employed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at the Washita National Wildlife Refuge. Spencer also serves in the Oklahoma Army National Guard, and he deployed to Afghanistan in 2010. Sanders is also a senior majoring in parks and wildlife law enforcement. He is a participant in SWOSU’s CLEET Collegiate Officer Program. Sanders is also pursuing a minor in wildland fire management. He has completed SWOSU’s Associate of Science in wildland firefighting program as well. Sanders was recently hired as a law enforcement park ranger at Fort Cobb State Park.
