The Event Planned October 7 to Assist Students with Future Plans
October 2, 2013
Studies show that approximately 80% of college students in the United States change their major at least once before obtaining a degree. On average, students change their major three times over the course of their college career.
In an attempt to assist students with academic and professional planning, Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Career Services Department is hosting an event designed for students with questions regarding their tenure at SWOSU and beyond.
The Event will be held Monday, October 7, in the Memorial Student Center Ballroom from 12 noon-1 p.m. A pizza lunch will be provided for all who attend.
“This is a great opportunity in a fun environment for students to talk about where they want to go and if they are on the right track,” said Jonna Myers, coordinator of career services.
Topics to be discussed include time management skills, setting goals, and academic and career advisement. The Event will connect students with the knowledge and resources that that they need to start making important decisions about their academic and professional path.
Myers, SWOSU Academic Counseling Coordinator Wendy Yoder and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. James South will speak at the Event.
