Judge Linder to Receive Award of Merit from SWOSU
Judge Ray Dean Linder of Alva will be honored with an Award of Merit at Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Homecoming activities planned October 26 in Weatherford.
SWOSU President Randy Beutler will present the award at pre-game of the 6 p.m. football game in honor of Linder for his many years of service to the legal and judicial professions in Oklahoma.
Linder will also ride in the SWOSU Homecoming parade at 2:30 p.m. in Towne Centre of Weatherford.
Linder is a 1957 graduate of SWOSU after graduating from Waynoka High School where he was valedictorian of his 1953 class. While at SWOSU, Linder was class president during freshman and senior years. After finishing at SWOSU, he then graduated from the University Of Oklahoma College Of Law in 1960.
Linder has been a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association since 1960 and has served as District Judge, Division I, Fourth Judicial District of Oklahoma since 1983. He has also presided as judge of the Northwest Judicial Administrative District of Oklahoma. During his time on the bench, Linder has been named Trial Judge of the Year four times including 1997, 2000, 2002 and 2012.
He and his wife, Wylodean, are life members of the SWOSU Alumni Association.
