Weatherford Native to Talk Wednesday about Research Experiences
Weatherford native Tyler Shadid, who is currently working on his master’s degree in microbiology, will present a talk on his undergraduate research experiences and his current graduate research this Wednesday, October 23, on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus.
Shadid, a SWOSU alum, will talk at 4 p.m. in Room 212 of the Old Science Building. The title of his talk is: Cultivating the scientific mind: experiences in undergraduate and graduate research.
Shadid graduated in 2006 from the Weatherford High School and in 2011 from SWOSU with a major in biology and a minor in microbiology. He is working on his master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma. He has been awarded several fellowships and has been involved in three undergraduate research projects supported by the National Science Foundation. He has also served as teaching and research assistant in undergraduate classes and laboratories at both SWOSU and OU.
Refreshments will be provided at 3:45 p.m. and the public is invited.
