Greutman Wins Again in Patient Counseling Competition
Morgan Greutman of Clarksville (TX) has done it again.
Greutman, a third year student in the Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy in Weatherford, won the local patient counseling competition in Weatherford for the second straight year and will now advance to the national competition March 28-31 in Orlando (FL). Greutman will receive an all-expenses paid trip.
The competitions are sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association—Academy of Student Pharmacists. In 2013, Greutman finished third runner-up at the national contest held in Los Angeles (CA).
Thirteen SWOSU students competed in the local competition. Each student had the opportunity to counsel a patient on a new prescription medication.
This year’s judges were Annie Frymeier, Watonga Indian Health Center; Cassandra Broeckelman, Clinton Indian Health Center Hospital; and Brett Whitehead, El Reno Indian Health Center.
