North Carolina Professor to Speak at SWOSU on Better Ways to Engage Students
The SWOSU College of Pharmacy will host nationally-known speaker Dr. Adam Persky on the Weatherford campus on Monday, March 31, and all faculty, students and area residents are invited to attend.
Dr. Persky, a professor at the University of North Carolina’s Eshelman School of Pharmacy, will speak at 1 p.m. in Redbud Hall of the SWOSU Conference Center, located at the corner of Seventh and Davis Streets in Weatherford. The presentation, titled “Experience is not Enough: Teaching with the Evidence to Improve Student Learning,” is applicable to areas of pharmacy and education in general.
Though Dr. Persky has a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical science, much of his research is focused on finding new and better ways to instruct students. Dr. Persky is a leader in the field of interactive learning, and he has experience teaching in a variety of fields. Dr. Persky has developed tools to engage students in innovative ways, and he will share those techniques during the presentation.
