Athletic Training Students Volunteer at NCAA Wrestling Championship

SWOSU Athletic Training Students
Several Southwestern Oklahoma State University athletic training students at Weatherford recently volunteered at the NCAA Division 1 National Wrestling Championship held at the Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City. Also on hand as part of the local medical staff were several SWOSU employees and alumni who volunteered at the event. Duties included providing medical coverage, setting up hydration stations, performing skin checks and assisting the NCAA with assignments as needed.  National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA) President Jim Thornton (fourth from left) met with SWOSU students and faculty (from left):  Kayla Johnson, Broken Arrow; Meagan Steen, Altus; Brittany Carson, Claremore; Brooke Massey, Cimarron; Assistant Athletic Trainer Leah Cox; and SWOSU graduate Paige Wheeler.
