SWOSU Student Places 2nd at Mathematics Competition
Weatherford native and SWOSU mathematics major Tyler Gorshing won second place at the annual Mathematical Association of America, Oklahoma-Arkansas Section, meeting’s undergraduate research competition.
Gorshing was one of 32 presenters, and his presentation, titled Center of Non-Relativistic Lie Algebras, was completed under the direction of Department of Mathematics Assistant Professor Dr. Guy Biyogmam.
The competition was held recently in Searcy (AR). It is the second consecutive year that a SWOSU mathematics major has placed in the competition. Samantha Driskill of Oklahoma City finished third in 2013.
