SWOSU's Mackenzie Bergagnini Wins Second Place at Research Day

Southwestern Oklahoma State University student Mackenzie Bergagnini of Tonkawa won second place in the regional university and community college category at the recent Research Day held at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Bergagnini won the award for her unnatural a-amino acid research. Congratulating her is Chancellor Glen D. Johnson. Bergagnini was selected to represent SWOSU, and she was one of 25 undergraduate students, representing 19 Oklahoma colleges and universities, who presented competitive research posters to the state Legislature and the public during this annual event sponsored by Oklahoma EPSCoR, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education and the National Science Foundation. The event is designed to raise awareness of the outstanding research taking place in Oklahoma’s colleges and universities.
