Fundraiser for SWOSU Trumpet Ensemble Planned in Elk City for Upcoming Honor

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s trumpet ensemble has been selected to perform at the 39th annual Conference of the International Trumpet Guild in Valley Forge (PA), and a fundraiser to help the ensemble is planned Friday, May 9, in Elk City. The Southwestern Oklahoma State University trumpet ensemble has been selected to perform at the 39th annual Conference of the International Trumpet Guild in Valley Forge (PA) on May 20-24, and a fundraiser to help the ensemble is planned Friday, May 9, in Elk City.

The ensemble auditioned for the event, which will feature some of the world’s greatest trumpet performers, teachers and manufacturers. The SWOSU trumpet ensemble will perform a prelude prior to piccolo trumpet specialist Michael Arndt’s recital. 

The dinner concert fundraiser at the First Presbyterian Church in Elk City will be held Friday, May 9, at 7 p.m.  The concert will feature music from Ewazen, Bach and others, including SWOSU student composer Jackson Anderson.
