Dr. Henrietta Mann

Dr. Henrietta Mann, president of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College on the SWOSU – Weatherford campus, was recently named by Money Magazine as one of the 50 Heroes in 50 States for her work in higher education.

Since 2012, Money Magazine, a publication by Time, Inc., has recognized individuals who are helping others through non-profit groups, education, community service and by other means.

Dr. Mann was honored because she helped establish the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College in 2006. Money Magazine says the CATC has provided low-cost education and career training for hundreds of students from 17 tribes. The CATC offers degrees in American Indian Studies, Children’s Teachers, General Studies, and Tribal Administration.

Dr. Mann says the degrees prepare students to return to their communities to help others in a pay-it-forward situation.
