Richard M. Allen Scholarship Established with SWOSU College of Pharmacy
The Richard M. Allen Scholarship has been established with the SWOSU College of Pharmacy Alumni Foundation in Weatherford to provide an annual $1,000 scholarship to a deserving pharmacy student.
Classmates of SWOSU College of Pharmacy graduate Rick Allen of Dallas (TX) set up the fund to honor him and to show their SWOSU pharmacy pride.
Dean of the College of Pharmacy Dennis Thompson said the scholarship is a fitting tribute to Allen and shows a strong sense of pride among his pharmacy alumni friends for the SWOSU College of Pharmacy and the pharmacy profession.
Allen received his degree from the SWOSU COP in 1970 and has over 40 years of experience in retail and home infusion pharmacy. He is a national speaker on oncology, pain management, multiple therapies and computer generated care plans/interventions. Allen has served as president, CEO and board member for multiple companies and banks, and he is active with a number of philanthropic organizations in the Dallas area. He is currently president, CEO and chairman of the board for Paragon Healthcare, Inc.
COP Alumni and Development Director Patti Harper said the need for scholarships continues to grow, and the COP is grateful for this group’s generosity.
In 1974, the SWOSU Pharmacy Alumni Foundation was incorporated for the purpose of financially supporting the educational endeavors of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. For more information or to give to the COP Alumni Foundation, contact Harper at 580.774.3190 or email@example.com.
