Garrett King Named Director of Institutional Advancement at SWOSU
Garrett King has been named director of institutional advancement at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.
King, a 2008 graduate of SWOSU who has been working as a field representative for U.S. Congressman Frank Lucas, will lead the SWOSU Foundation and SWOSU Alumni Association.
"It is an honor and privilege to return to my alma mater,” King said. “I look forward to working with the SWOSU Foundation trustees & alumni, President (Randy) Beutler, and the entire SWOSU community to help make our university a stronger institution."
King was born and raised on a peanut farm between Binger and Eakly in northern Caddo County. While he was a student at SWOSU, he served four years in the Student Government Association and served as president in 2006-07.
King sits on the boards of HOBY Oklahoma, SWOSU Alumni Association, Weatherford Community Habitat for Humanity and on the advisory board of the Weatherford Public Library. He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford.
He resides in Weatherford with his wife, Custer County attorney and SWOSU alumnus Carissa (Marquis) King.
