12.15.2014

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is offering an Italian language course for the first time during the upcoming 2015 spring semester on the Weatherford campus.

Dr. Tugba Sevin will offer the Elementary Italian course. Sevin said Italian is the native language of almost 60 million people worldwide.

The course at SWOSU will offer an interdisciplinary approach in real life settings. The main focus will be training in all basic communication skills. Students will understand and appreciate the Italian culture and realize the influences of it in everyday life in the United States.

Sevin will also offer “The club de conversazione”, an optional after class informal conversation which will help students to improve their language skills while talking about daily life and topics of their desire. Students will also have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Italian culture and language by joining in the affordable study abroad program in Italy.

The course will be offered Mondays through Wednesdays from 2-3:05 p.m. in Stafford Center 112.  For more information, contact Sevin at 580.774.7164 or  tugba.sevin@swosu.edu.
