SWOSU Foundation Names Three to Board of Trustees

Philip Busey, Jr., of Oklahoma City, Bryan Evans of Edmond and Lynda L. Lucas of Cheyenne have been named to the Board of Trustees of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation, Inc.
The trio—all SWOSU graduates—was approved recently at a Foundation board meeting on the Weatherford campus.
Busey (Class of 2004, studied mass communication) is senior vice president and chief communications officer with the Delaware Resource Group. Busey will serve on the Foundation’s Finance Committee.
Evans (Class of 1998, studied psychology) is partner with Evans & Davis Attorneys. He also will serve on the Foundation’s Investments Committee.
Lucas (Class of 1981, studied elementary education) is a cattle rancher. She will serve on the Foundation’s Properties Committee.
“We are very pleased that Philip Busey, Bryan Evans and Lynda Lucas will be joining the Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” said Foundation Trustees Chairman Jim Mogg of Hydro. “Their diverse experiences and expertise will help the Foundation to fulfill its purpose of advancing SWOSU during the university’s second century.”
The SWOSU Foundation was founded in 1977 to promote philanthropy and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. At the recent board meeting, the trustees heard reports from SWOSU President Randy L. Beutler and SWOSU Foundation Executive Director Garrett King. The Board considered and adopted policies on grants, raffles, hospitality and fees. The board considered and adopted an updated risk management plan along with an amendment to the Foundation’s articles of incorporation.
