Four SWOSU Students to Compete at Miss Oklahoma Pageant
Four Southwestern Oklahoma State University coeds at Weatherford will compete at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant June 1-6 in Tulsa.
Lacey Anderson of Walters will go as Miss SWOSU; Hailey Raetz of Hydro will represent Miss Queen of the West; Allie Ayers of Snyder is Miss Altus; and Rachel Penry of Leedey is Miss Elk City.
Anderson won the title of Miss SWOSU last fall on the Weatherford campus and will be among 47 contestants competing for the Miss Oklahoma title.
Anderson and Raetz are in the Omega group. Their talent competition will take place on Tuesday evening. Anderson will sing “For the First Time in Forever” while Raetz will play “Bumble Boogie” on the piano. Both Anderson and Raetz will have interviews on Monday, evening wear on Wednesday and swimsuit on Thursday evening.
Ayers and Penry are in the Sigma group. Their talent performances are on Thursday. Ayers will sing “Fever” and Penry will sing and play the guitar to “The Show.” They have interviews and evening wear on Tuesday and the swimsuit competition on Wednesday.
Preliminaries begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. The finals will be Saturday night (June 6) at 7:30 p.m. at the Mabee Center. The winner of the pageant advances to the Miss America Pageant.
Representing SWOSU in the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen Pageant will be Meaghan Dorn of Blair. She won the Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen title this past fall and will be among 34 contestants vying for the state title.
Dorn will compete in the Alpha group. Her interview is on Tuesday, she will compete in active wear on Thursday, evening wear and talent on Friday by dancing to “Amayzing Mayzie.”
The teen pageant finals will be held on Friday night (June 5) at 7:30 p.m. at the Mabee Center.
