Randall Named SWOSU-Sayre MLT Outstanding Student

03.28.2016

Rachel Randall of Hollis was recently named the 2016 Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Outstanding Medical Laboratory Technician Student.

A former public school teacher, Randall entered the SWOSU-Sayre MLT Program this past fall.

“Rachel decided on a career change to pursue a new career as a medical laboratory technician, and she’s a wonderful addition to the program,” said SWOSU-Sayre MLT Program Director Roxann Clifton.

Randall will complete her clinical practice this summer and be ready to begin her new career.

Though the program usually requires four semesters to complete the necessary coursework, Randall is finishing hers in only two semesters.

“We are very proud of Rachel's success and look forward to her contributions to the field of laboratory medicine,” Clifton said.

Because of her excellence, Randall is being nominated for National Student of the Year.
