Community Conversation on Domestic Violence Planned June 23 at SWOSU

A Community Conversation on Domestic Violence will be held at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Thursday, June 23.

The program is spearheaded by the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women and is being sponsored by the American Association of University Women chapter in Weatherford.

Everyone is invited to participate from 5:30-7 p.m. in the East Ballroom of the Memorial Student Center.

The community conversation’s goal is to hear from residents, specifically women, on their thoughts and concerns regarding domestic violence.

Programs are being held around the state of Oklahoma. The OCSW will use the information gathered in these community conversations at the Solutions, Initiatives and Strategies (SIS) Summit on Domestic Violence planned July 14 to formulate effective action plans, help women move forward, and reduce the number of domestic violence against women, children and men in Oklahoma.

For additional information about the program at SWOSU, contact OCSW Executive Director Kitti Asberry at 405-401-6970 or Weatherford AAUW contact Faye Henson at 580-330-2015.
