Dr. Les Ramos Named Associate Dean of SWOSU College of Pharmacy
Dr. Les Ramos has been named Associate Dean of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy in Weatherford.
He takes the position previously held by Dr. David Ralph, who was recently named Dean of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
Ramos has been employed at SWOSU since 1998 and has served twice as chair of the COP Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Ramos holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology from the University of Maryland.
He has served on the Faculty Senate for 13 years and was Faculty Senate president in 2008-2009. He has been selected as “Teacher of the Year” in pharmaceutical sciences nine times. Ramos is a faculty sponsor for the Beta Upsilon chapter of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society.
Ramos serves as a volunteer for the Blue Thumb Water Quality Monitoring Program and the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Weatherford. Ramos’ wife, Margaret, has been employed as a pharmacist at the Clinton Regional Hospital for the past 18 years. They have one son, Nicholas, who is entering 9th grade as a homeschooler. The family lives in Weatherford.
