26 High School Bands to Join SWOSU Band in Mass Performance this Saturday
Over 1,300 students from 26 high school bands across Oklahoma will join the 170-member Southwestern Oklahoma State University marching band for a special pre-football game performance this Saturday, November 12, at Milam Stadium on the SWOSU campus.
Twenty-five of the 26 bands will also march in SWOSU’s annual Homecoming parade that begins at 1:30 p.m. in Weatherford Towne Centre. The pre-game performance will be at 5:15.
Schools performing will be: Burns Flat, Caney Valley, Central, Garber, Hinton, Hollis, Mangum, Seiling, Snyder, Thomas-Fay-Custer, Waukomis, Ringwood, Apache, Hobart, Oktaha, Sayre, Walters, Fairview, Clinton, Weatherford, Chickasha, Anadarko, El Reno, Lawton Ike, Lawton and Kingfisher.
SWOSU Director of Bands Marc Mueller said this year’s combined 1,500 band members will be the largest-ever mass performance at SWOSU.
The SWOSU Alumni Association will provide a meal for the bands prior to the game.
