Medieval Arts & Crafts Show Planned February 18 at SWOSU

A medieval arts and crafts show will be held Saturday, February 18, on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

The SWOSU Graphic Design Association is hosting the second annual event from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the Memorial Student Center. Admission is free, and events are for both young and old alike.

The event offers multiple hands-on learning workshops. The schedule includes:

Ballroom—10 a.m. until 12 noon

  • Leatherworking
  • Blackwork Embroidery
  • Making Glass Beads
  • Renaissance Dancing
  • Embroidery

Outdoor Workshops—10 a.m. until 12 noon

  • Blacksmithing
  • Making Medieval Glue

Outdoor Demonstration—11 a.m.-12 noon

  • Chivalric Combat
  • Medieval Drumming and Dancing

Ballroom—2-4 p.m.

  • Leatherworking
  • Blackwork Embroidery
  • Making Glass Beads
  • Metalworking
  • Making Medieval Butter
  • Embroidery
  • Calligraphy
  • Painting and Illumination

Outdoor Demonstration—2-4 p.m.

  • Chivalric Combat
  • Medieval Drumming and Dancing
