SWOSU’s Tau Kappa Epsilon and Member Win Impressive Awards

The Southwestern Oklahoma State University social fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) in Weatherford and one of its members recently received several outstanding national awards at the 59th Biennial Conclave of TKE held in New Orleans.

SWOSU student Chris Tyrone of Colleyville (TX) became the first-ever SWOSU TKE member to win the “Top Teke” Award in recognition of his work with the fraternity as well as leadership, academics and community service. Tyrone was selected as one of five “Top Tekes” from among 11,000 undergraduate students.

The Epsilon Eta chapter at SWOSU won the “Most Improved Chapter Award” out of 246 competing chapters across the United States and Canada.

The chapter also won five “Excellence Awards” in the areas of community service, chapter size, recruitment results, alumni relations, and philanthropy. No other chapter received more excellence awards.

SWOSU was also honored for its fund raising efforts for St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
