SWOSU Research & Scholarly Activity Fair Moved to New Location

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s 25th annual Research and Scholarly Activity Fair involving students and faculty is Tuesday, April 17, at the SWOSU Wellness Center in Weatherford.

The event was originally scheduled for the Pioneer Cellular Event Center but was moved because the U.S. Forestry Service set up an Incident Command Center and staging area at the events center to assist with fires in western Oklahoma.

The public is invited, and admission is free. Registration opens at 11 a.m., and there will be booths stationed around the Wellness Center. Poster presentations begin at 12 noon and the official welcome is at 12:30 p.m. Podium presentations are set to begin at 1 p.m. Two food trucks will be stationed outside the Wellness Center. The fair ends at 3 p.m.

Ed Klein, chair of the SWOSU Department of Education and a member of the scholarly fair committee, said there are 128 entries for poster presentations and 10 oral presentations. He said area high school students will also attend the fair.

The SWOSU Research and Scholarly Activity Fair, celebrating its silver anniversary this year, showcases the research and scholarly activities of undergraduate students who have made an inquiry or investigation that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to their discipline.
