- Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre is offering two college classes in Elk City as part of its summer schedule.

- Officials from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre will be at Elk City High School on Wednesday, May 7, to enroll high school students and any interested adults in college classes offered at Elk City and Sayre during the upcoming summer and fall semesters.

- SWOSU at Sayre student Miroslava Pryor of Elk City was selected as winner of the Oklahoma Young Writers Competition with her short story “Innocence Lost.”

- Two Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre students—Kasi Gaither of Shamrock (TX) and Joe Robinson of Boise City—were recently awarded $250 scholarships by the Oklahoma Society of Radiologic Technologists at the group’s state convention in Tulsa.

- SWOSU-Sayre is adding an Associate in Applied Science degree with a major in criminal justice.

- Beginning this fall semester, Associate in Science degrees in General Education and General Business can be obtained entirely through distance learning from Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre.
