At the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding, the Pharm.D. student will be have the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Loyd V. Allen, Editor-in-Chief, CEO of the Midwest Institute of Research and Technology, and Professor Emeritus of the University of Oklahoma HSC College of Pharmacy. The student will participate first-hand in the development of The International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding (IJPC), a bi-monthly, scientific and professional journal emphasizing quality pharmaceutical compounding. IJPC is the only publication that covers pharmaceutical compounding topics relevant and necessary to empower pharmacists to meet the needs of today's patients.
The Pharm.D. student will be exposed to a broad range of local, national, and international issues relating to the pharmacy industry, including pharmaceutical law cases, compounding issues, and research questions submitted from around the world. In addition, an on-site laboratory provides the student an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience with pharmaceutical formulations and drug development, often for clinical trials. Every day is different and exciting in this cutting-edge rotation site, and the student will be sure to come away with a creative confidence and a broadened view of the profession of pharmacy.
