At Lassiter Drug the student will be introduced to different functions at an independently owned compounding/retail store. You will spend most of your time, working closely with a pharmacist, compounding suppositories, capsules, topicals, and any new formulation that a physician requests. You will attend presentations for physicians and nurses informing them of the different products that can be made by compounding. Filling prescriptions and being actively involved in patient care is also part of the job. In addition, working for a very active pharmacist, you will attend various meetings such as the legislative, county, state board, school board, compounding meetings and others that are scheduled during the time that you are there. The exposure to the meetings is a great experience and shows you the importance of being involved in your community.
