Hillcrest Medical Center is a 572 bed acute care and skilled nursing facility. Clinical exposure includes: MUE development and tracking, IV to oral antibiotic switch, renal dosing module, targeted patient rounds with interdisciplinary team, and skilled care facility chart reviews. Case presentations will be given weekly. Lectures include DVT, coronary artery disease, asthma, diabetes, and infectious disease. Students will attend grand rounds and visit various ancillary areas including cardiac cath lab, dialysis unit, microbiology lab, and CHF unit. Projects may include drug monograph development and/or other drug information projects. This rotation is a general clinical overview.
