Maxor National Pharmacy Services Corporation Maxor Retail Pharmacy Rotation

The Maxor retail pharmacy rotation will incorporate two retail pharmacy sights or settings. The primary setting will be the Maxor Mail Order facility which fills approximately 1500 prescriptions per day. Learning opportunities here will consist of general retail operations, high volume pharmacy operations and special handling for a specific group of customers that get preferential pricing through select military programs related to the Department of Defense.
The secondary site is a small retail pharmacy that functions within a unique setting of operation. The Maxor Express Pharmacy is located in Canyon, Texas, just south of Amarillo in a smaller college community. Maxor Express offers pharmacy services but also functions as a convenience store offering snacks, drinks, gas, car wash, drinking water and an ATM for the college students and the community of Canyon. This is a slower paced pharmacy which will allow the student to get a flavor of the small town corner drug store environment, something a little different than the typical chain retail pharmacy experience.
Part of this retail rotation will also focus on the business or operation end of pharmacy and what it takes to operate day to day. Also included will be aspects such as ordering, inventory control, medication storage, product handling, shipping processes and clinical interventions related to the retail pharmacy practice.
