Students will spend time in each of the following units: SHARE program (adult out-patient), Adolescent, and Adult Unit (in-patient).
Students will interact with patients on a daily basis, including attending several group sessions and other scheduled activities specific to that unit.
Students may be asked medication questions from the patients. Thus, the student should review thoroughly the sections in Current Therapeutics concerning CNS drugs, with emphasis on side effects and adverse effects of the medications.
Students will present a minimum of two short oral reports concerning substances of abuse to the patients on the Adolescent Unit.
Students will present to the faculty member at a minimum, one patient case report from each unit during the rotation.
