Pediatrics
The student will participate in daily patient care rounds with an assigned healthcare team. The healthcare team will consist of physicians, medical residents, medical students, nurses, nursing students, social worker, dietitian, respiratory therapist, case manager, and a pharmacist. The student will act as the drug information source for their multidisciplinary healthcare team. The student will have an opportunity to be involved in the care of a wide variety of pediatric disease states. The patients will range in age from neonates to adolescence. The students will do prospective medication review on the patients on their team. They will participate in daily discussion with the Pediatric Clinical Specialist regarding patients on their team. The student will participate in discussions regarding disease states that are present primarily in the pediatric population. The student will participate in pediatric multidisciplinary committees.
