Students will be involved in the following areas:
Outpatient
- ACC (coagulation) clinic
- Adolescent asthma clinic-patient education
- Chart reviews for DUE
- Patient counseling and education
- Drug therapy selection
- 3-5 days in field clinic (toward the middle to last part of internship)
- IHS Pharmacist approach to Pharmacotherapy
Inpatient
- Rounds with physicians
- Exposure to IV drug therapy (work with hood)
- Patient counseling/education
- Performance improvement
At the end of the rotation the student will be asked to evaluate our program and make suggestions for improvement, and comment on the strengths and weaknesses for the program.
