Jason Baker
Jason Baker has been employed by SWOSU since 1998. Jason currently serves as the Director of the Foss Lake Adventure Program. Prior to this appointment, he served as a direct care staff member and later as an adventure program facilitator with the Foss Lake Adventure Program. The Foss Lake Adventure Program houses 16 male adjudicated youths for up to 7 months.
While in the program, they are taught social skills, receive individual and group therapy, and are taught numerous coping skills. They also attend an on-site school, and are involved in many adventure activities such as SCUBA diving, lifeguarding, rappelling, rock climbing, sailing, canoeing, hiking, trail riding, backpacking, and wilderness survival.
Jason currently teaches Outdoor Recreation as an adjunct instructor for the PRM Department. He received a B.S. in Recreation Leadership from SWOSU in May 2001. In May 2002 he received a Masters of Education degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from SWOSU.
Jason also serves as a SWOSU Reserve Park Ranger and as a Custer County Reserve Deputy Sheriff. Jason is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and the Oklahoma Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
