1931: Work was started on a project to convert a Science Building northeast corner room into a model zoology laboratory, according to A.H. Neff, head of the Biology Department
1946: Western Oklahoma legislators made a personal visit to Southwestern Institute of Technology. The senators and representatives inspected the college plant and discussed needs with President J.H. Burton.
1958: It was announced the new campus apartments for married students were just about completed. Married students would be allowed to sign up during the upcoming 1959 spring semester.
1969: Dr. Earl A. Reynolds was named as chairman of the Division of Education and Psychology when Dr. George H. Ryden announced he would be retiring at the end of the academic year.
1973: Harrel Lee Kennedy was named as new registrar at Southwestern.
1981: Ed Farmer, a linebacker on the Southwestern football team, was named to the NAIA All-America Football Team. Wide receiver Pat Lewis and defensive back D.K. Guyton were named to the honorable mention squad.
